Modeling of isotopic fractionation in a system with sources and sinks
A formula is derived from calculation of the isotopic composition parameter delta in a system with any number of sources and sinks. It is applied to the isotope pairs 13C/12C and 2H/H in atmospheric methane, illustrating the importance of isotope fractionation in the sink processes.
