The paper describes the innovative hardware and software aspects related to the implementation of the pseudodynamic test method at the ELSA reaction-wall facility. Many aspects are presented as applied to the earthquake tests recently performed on large structures as part of the European programme on prenormative research. The results are obtained by using various time integration algorithms, and accounting for substructures.
