Photothermal and photoacoustic investigation of zirconia coating delaminations
In an investigation of zirconia coating delamination, thermal wave interferometry provided good contrast for the determination of both defects and coating thickness. Scanning times however were not acceptable for routine work. A comparison of a detector sensitivity was hindered by the limits of resolution of the scanning/imaging system.
