Derivatives of displacement obtained by direct manipulation of phase-shifted interferograms
Digital processing techniques are increasingly being applied to perform quantitative analysis of interferograms. In this paper the maps of phase derivatives are extracted by direct manipulation of phase-shifted interferograms. The advantages of this process are: (i) no need for prior phase evaluation or unwrapping procedures; (ii) a decrease in processing time; (iii) easy retrieval of the absolute phase map. A general description of the method is presented and discussed. The proposed technique is applied to the study of the deformation of a test object by the manipulation of four phase-shifted interferograms.
