In the frame of a systemmatic study of the fragment mass and energy distributions of the spontaneously fissioning plutonium isotopes, 236,238,240,242,244Pu(SF) were investigated. A fission mode unfolding was also performed on the whole collection of even-even Pu-isotopes data, putting into evidence the interplay of Standard I and Standard II fission modes and proton-to-neutron ratios. Finally, a new way to perform a cold fission analysis is proposed, and the results for the spontaneous fission of Pu-isotopes and the thermal neutron induced fission of 239Pu are reported.
