Abstract

After a brief description of innovative hardware and software aspects related to the implementation of the pseudo-dynamic test method at the ELSA reaction-wall facility of the Joint Research Centre, Ispra, the paper presents an overview of the testing activity at large scale, in the framework of an integrated European programme of pre-normative research in support of Eurocode 8. The experimental campaign conducted at the ELSA facility includes a 3-storey moment-resisting steel frame, a 4-storey reinforced-concrete frame and a series of irregular bridges.
