Abstract

This note reviews numerical methods for solving the compressible Navier-Stokes equations in the range of subsonic laminar flows. Methods which can be extended to deal with turbulent, reacting and two-phase flows are considered. Since problems involving complex geometries are envisaged, this bibliographical investigation is limited mainly to finite element methods.
