Abstract

This report calls into question the use of the IOM (one interstitial model) for the description of radiation damage in materials. Much experimental evidence is produced, such as the activation migration energies of interstitials and vacancies in copper, to support this point of view, originally proposed by the Stuttgatt School more than thirty years ago.
