Abstract

In sections 1 and 2 of this report the main results of the PISC I and the PISC II programmes are summarised and the effects of these in relation to codes, standards, regulatory activities and attitudes and other associated aspects are reviewed. The third section describes the PISC III programme status against a similar background and points out that the new Action 8 is specifically designed to provide the support of PISC expertise to Codes and Standards drafting bodies. Section 4 discusses the contribution of PISC to the concept and practice of performance demonstration and to other aspects less directly related to NDE procedures. The final sections outline expected future developments.
