Modelling start-up tasks using functional models
The start-up task brings a plant from an initial state that is no longer satisfactory to a final state where the plant can be said to operate as desired. This report presents different functional models to express start-up tasks based on different sequences of actions that together bring a subsystem from one operating point to another. MFM models are used to describe the plant in terms of means and ends, where ultimate ends are main goals for the operation of the plant, and the ultimate means are the components of the plant.
