Abstract

This paper reports on a differential method to extract the plasma toroidal flux from the total toroidal flux. This method takes advantage of the pairs of concentric diamagnetic loops of Tore Supra and improves the measurement of the plasma toroidal flux. The diamagnetic diagnostic must rely on a whole set of toroidal flux captors. This requires the design of a set of specific coils in the vacuum vessel to measure comparable total toroidal flux. The accuracy of diamagnetic measurements is essentially dependent on the way the diagnostic is designed.
