Abstract

The aim of this work is to develop a system for the measurement of gas activity in the isolation space of double containers for high activity tritium, based on gas scintillation methods. Following a preliminary study a detection apparatus was built, with spherical geometry to increase the ratio between scinitillating gas volume and the area of quartz view ports, using argon as scinitillating gas.
