Some new developments in the isotopic analysis of Pu and U by gamma spectrometry
Several improvements have recently been made in the MGA plutonium isotopic analysis code. Measurements of MOX samples were improved by measuring the 1001 keV peak of 238U more accurately. Efforts have been made to improve the U/Pu ratio determined from the x-ray intensities of U and Pu in the 94-104 keV region. MGAU, a new code for measuring the 235U enrichment in uranium samples, has been evaluated. A wide variety of samples has been measured and analysed.
