MEGAS : Modelling and experiments on gas migration in repository host rocksFunded under: FP2-RADWASTOM 4C
The primary objective of the MEGAS project is to understand the consequences of gas generation in a clay host rock. During phase one of the project chemical reaction, diffusion, two-phase flow and the creation of preferential pathways are investigated. This final report gives an overview of all the results from phase one. The experimental techniques, procedures and results of the laboratory two-phase flow experiments are described, and the results of the in-situ experiments are discussed.
