Study of the behaviour of Cd, Zn metallothioneins as a function of the addition of Cd and Zn by differential pulse polography
In order to obtain a better understanding of the electrochemical properties of metallothioneins, a systematic study of the addition of metal ions (Cd and/or Zn) was carried out. The influence of pH on Cd-T and Cd-T species has been studied. The addition of zinc modifies the polarographic response of metallothioneins. The gradual disappearance of the Cd-T species occurs; this effect is pH dependent. The addition of cadmium does not provoke the detection of free Zn(2+) and does not modify the Zn-T complex.
