Abstract

The international and the european safeguards systems face a turning point from which new directions, concerning both innovative R&D activities and redefinition of roles, need to be established. This report describes the contribution of the ESARDA symposium to safeguard implementation. Areas of future initiatives are defined and the importance of co-operation for the implementation of an efficient system are discussed.
