High precision land cover mapping and inventory with multi-temporal earth observation satellite data
Automatic computer processing for land cover mapping provides more stable and accurate results when multi-temporal data tests are used. This report covers the role of automatic computers and ancillary data layers in achieving accurate land cover mapping. An example of the French province, Département Ardèche has been taken due to the variability of its physiographic conditions. More than one third of this study is devoted to sub-pixel accuracy in geometric rectification and registration of multiple images and absolute radiometric calibration.
