Statistical analysis of the global energy confinement time tau(E) in ohmic discharges in the ASDEX tokamakFunded under: EAEC-FUSION 12C
In this paper it is shown that the ohmic confinement time in ASDEX is mainly dominated by the dependencies on the electron energy flux and the ohmic power. This holds for both the density scaling and the isotope effect. The paper contains scaling laws of tau(E) for the different confinement regimes in ASDEX, and the properties of the ohmic heating power and the energies of the electrons and ions are discussed. These results are used to reconstruct the energy confinement time and show the importance of the electron energy transport and the ohmic heating characteristics.
