Telecommunications for Europe 1995
The development of high performance and communication systems is rapidly re-shaping the foundations of economies, of society, of the workplace, and of daily lives. Europe is inevitably caught up in this information revolution. It is a revolution driven by two forces. The first is digitalisation which is fostering an extraordinary wave of technological innovation and breaking down historical boundaries between telecommunications, computing and broadcasting; the second is globalisation: globalisation not only of products and markets, but above all of information and knowledge. These two forces interact, each fuelling each other. This third volume records the activities of the years 1991 to 1994, and contains some of the key decisions which will shape the telecommunications landscape in Europe for years to come.
