Abstract

The workshop presented investigates evaluation procedures for atmospheric dispersion models. The emphasis of the workshop was on practical short-range models. The type of problem primarily dealt with at the workshop was relatively simple, namely a case where a simple source emits a non-reactive gas in homogeneous terrain. Only three different datasets were considered for the common model evaluation exercise. The emphasis was on comparisons where: (i) arc-wise maxima were compared to plume centre-line concentrations; (ii) cross-wind integrated concentrations were considered.
