Abstract

The European Tracer Experiment (ETEX) project has accumulated large sets of European wide geo-referenced data relating to atmospheric dynamics. The experiment, which involved some 40 organizations active in research on long range atmospheric transport models, released an atmospheric tracer which was monitored at a number of sampling stations throughout the European continent. The participating organizations, by using their models, attempted to predict the location of the tracer cloud at various intervals after the initial release.

To facilitate the comparison of the various models, an information system is being developed which seeks to give improved access to the predicted and measured data. Parallel to this development, the possibility has been investigated of making the information accessible to a much wider public without sacrificing the flexibility offered by arc macro language (AML). .
