This publication contains volumes twenty-three, twenty-four and twenty-five of the Future of Industry in Europe series. Volume twenty-three reports on spatial clustering and industrial networks in Northern Greece. It describes the basic socio-economic context and the profile of this region, and analyses its industrial growth and change, and the structure and deficiencies of its manufacturing sector as a whole. Volume twenty-four reports on a prospective analysis of demography in the Setubal region of Portugal where an industrial change process is developing which is greatly influenced by the automobile sector. The report presents some of the global characteristics of Portuguese industry and the trends of production specialisation. Volume twenty-five examines two regions in Ireland (the West and the East) which have very different social, industrial and physical characteristics. The report contains a socio-economic profile of the two regions, explores the major determinants of future industrial development under the headings of industrial policy and infrastructure, and discusses a number of possible and probable futures for each region.
