This booklet was issued to mark the occasion of the European Technology Forum, which took place in Bonn on 7th September 1994. It includes verbatim the University Vice-Chancellor's greetings and introductory speech by the leader of the branch office of the European Commission, as well as other contributions: on aims and prospects in European research and technology policy (from the Federal Minister for Research and Technology); on opportunities generated by the Fourth Framework Programme of the European Union and its implications for future job specifications (from a member of the European Commission); on Europe facing the challenges of the information society (from the deputy chairman of the Siemens Group; and on the innovation potential and limits of genetic engineering (Max Planck Institute for breeding research). There follows a transcript of open discussion between the main speakers, and a presentation of information on display at the forum: on Relay Centres of the VALUE programme and on the European Union in general, as well as exhibits: a futuristic car - the Solarmobile; a model of the transrapid magnetic levitation transport system, and various databases as examples of European research promotion.
