Abstract

This manual provides information on the background and origin of the WAVE model and the specification of the space and time scales based on the SWATRER (soil, water and actual transpiration rate) model. A description is given of the water transport, the solute transport, the heat transport, the crop growth and the nitrogen fate modules. In each case the theory, soil and crop properties are explained and the concepts and numerical solutions presented. A detailed and comprehensive description of the type and format of the model input and output is given.
