The purpose of this journal is to provide a medium of exchange for those engaged in marine research where there exists an interplay between geology, chemistry, biology and physics. This volume focuses on the ecology of Phaeocystis-dominated ecosystems. It covers the taxonomic identity of Phaeocystis, its life cycle, the topic of dimethyl sulphide and Phaeocystis, microbial degradation and the significance of sedimentation for the termination of Phaeocystis blooms.
