Abstract

This brochure gives an overview of some of the strategies applied by research groups to construct bacteria able to eliminate a wide range of organic solvents. Model recombinant bacteria and their parental wild type strain have been selectively introduced in polluted and non-polluted environments, and their survival, performance and ability to transfer rDNA have been monitored.
