Arbuscular mycorrhizas in sustainable soil-plant system : Arbuscular mycorrhizas as a link between East and West European countriesFunded under: IC-COST
The action of the COST programme entitled 'Arbuscular mycorrhizas in sustainable soil/plant systems' started in 1994. Seventeen countries are now involved including three Central European countries (Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary). The conference held in Krakow at Jagiellonian University in June 1994 was organized to gauge interest in developing joint projects on arbuscular mycorrhizas between Eastern and Western European countries. It presented the state of knowledge on the subject and provided an official forum to present advances in research as well as new projects by scientists from Eastern European countries. Of the 25 papers presented, most by scientists from Western Europe were reviews already published in a previous book. However, most papers presented by Eastern and Central European scientists were devoted to recently completed experimental work, and most of them are included in this book. In addition, the paper on the European Bank of Glomales is included to provide information on the creation of an international culture collection, and about the possibilities of using it and participating in collaboration.
