Image Synthesis with Radiosity Technique on CRAY Machines
The creation of images by evaluating a model of light propagation is called image synthesis and has been studied extensively in the field of computer graphics since 1970s. The radiosity method, originally based on principles of thermodynamics, provides an important approach for evaluating a physical based illumination model. Historically, a major argument against the use of radiosity procedures has been the excessive computing demand. The goal of this paper is to present the porting of radiosity method on a vectorial machine CRAY C90 and on the multiple instruction multiple data (MIMD) machine CRAY T3D.
