Phebus-FP is an international programme, led by CEA and the European Commission, investigating in-pile key light water reactor (LWR) severe accident phenomena such as the degradation of fuel and control rods, the release of fission products and other materials and their transport in the reactor cooling system, the depositon of radiologically significant aerosols in the containment and the revolatilization of iodine through radiolysis and desorption. This paper presents the status of the analysis of the first Phebus test and the preparation of the reamaining five tests.
