Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Within a five-year programme on Management and Storage of Radioactive Waste, the European Community is participating in the OKLO study, Natural analogue for transfer processes in a geological repository. The papers presented as the proceedings of the fourth progress and final meeting focus on the two main tasks within the OKLO project devoted to:
reactor zones geology and ancient migrations;
hydrogeology of the bearings and recent migrations. They also discuss the contribution and implication of the OKLO studies to repository performance assessment. This item is brought up again in the final panel where future prospects and orientation of a possible OKLO-Phase Two study are also discussed.
