This study describes the irradiation creep mechanism and its effects on the performance and behaviour of vessel and in-vessel components in fusion environments and discusses the implications of component behaviour on the design and structural safety issues of fusion devices. The irradiation creep models and proposed theories are examined and analysed to produce a creep law relevant to fusion conditions. Procedures are set up in order to examine the behaviour of structures under continuous or pulsed operation, including irradiation creep.
