ASQRAD (Assessment System for the Quantification of Radiation Detriment) is a Windows based tool for PCs. It has been jointly developed by the CEPN (Centre d'étude sur l'Evaluation de la Protection dans le domaine Nucléaire) in France and the NRPB (National Radiological Protection Board) in the UK, with support from the European Commission.
The aim of ASQRAD is to provide a common framework for applying measures of radiation detriment. The code has been designed to be a flexible, easy to use tool with the facility to quantify detriment from somatic and hereditary effects, based on a wide selection of health effects models, for both individuals and populations. It contains a data base from a wide selection of countries, but it also allows the user to input alternative data and model parameters.
