Structural Integrity Assessment of the JET Neutral Beam Components
Better understanding of the physics involved and possible enhancements have resulted in reappraisal of the high thermal loads and the predicted life of existing copper based components in the Neutral injection system of JET. However, the assessment of high temperature equipment is usually restricted to stainless steel components. The proposed high temperature design rules which are described in this paper are based on high temperature criteria defined in the ASME III design code.
