Abstract

This work concern the evaluation of the effects of a dynamic stress on the tensile behaviour of 8 layers carbon fibre composite laminates and epoxidic resin. The specimen were tested until rupture in two different condition: before dynamic solicitation (oligociclic fatigue, low frequency) and after. Acoustic Emission monitoring was conducted in both the kind of test with the aim to evaluate the reliability of such a technique even in the less favoured condition of stress perpendicular to the fibre orientation (fast crack propagation).
