In our first scientific meeting we decided to structure our activities in five working groups, the validity of which was confirmed during the 1995 activities:
mycorrhizal fungi: biodiversity, phylogenetics and population dynamics;
genetics and physiology of mycorrhizal systems;
mycorrhizas in abiotic and biotic stress alleviation and plant protection;
mycorrhizas in sustainable systems: their role in biogeochemical cycling;
banque Européene des Glomales (BEG).
Three major meetings have been organized, two of which (Sitges and Copenhagen) in conjunction with Management Committee Meetings:
mycorrhiza in biological control of plant diseases (Working Group 3). Sitges (Barcelona), 27-30 April 1995;
mycorrhiza in sustainable systems (Working Group 4). Hannover, 23-24 June 1995;
evolutionary biology of the Glomales (Working Group 1). Copenhagen, 7-9 December 1995. er 1995.
