Abstract

High-spatial resolution, visible to thermal infrared multi-channel digital imagery has been used in a semi-arid area to identify landslides occurring in sedimentary terrain. Semi-automatic texture classification techniques and statistically selected, decorrelation-stretched band triplets enabled most instability features to be discriminated, while still providing an acceptable differentiation from some erosion patterns.
