From June 1993 to June 1994, in the frame of the EMEP programme on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution, measurements of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) have been performed evenly, by gas chromatography (GC), after sampling in canisters, in three stations: Majadahonda (ES), Donon (FR), Ispra (IT). In each site there is a good correlation between the ten VOCs measured. Data analysis shows that the lowering of VOC levels can be correlated to photochemical activity. Accumulation conditions of VOC concentration appears, in each station, between Summer and Autumn. Continuous measuring of VOC by direct sampling, allows to reveal a strong correlation with O3 and peroxyacylnitrate (PAN).
