Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

At present a variety of BCR- Certified Reference Materials based on dairy products is available from IRMM. The materials are certified from the inorganic and organic composition, for concentrations of trace and major elements, of organic biogenic and anthropogenic contaminants, and the number of colony forming particles in artificially contaminated milk powder. A new material for the detection of food adulteration is also available. IRMM is well equipped for the preparation of biological and food reference materials and wants to invite laboratories in Europe to collaborate with IRMM and the SM&T Programme in order to produce new reference materials which are needed for the analysis of dairy products.
