Abstract

It was demonstrated that Vitis roots contain compounds belonging to the family of resveratrol derivatives. Resveratrol is well known for positive effect on human health. In this paper the presence of trans-resveratrol beta-D glucopyranoside in roots was reported for the first time. An extraction method and the use of HPLC-DAD was proposed to quantify all the identified compounds (e-viniferin, gnetin H, r-2-viniferin, r-viniferin, ampelopsin A, hopeaphenol). The reproducibility of the whole methodology was verified, resulting satisfactory.
