The handbook has been conceived as a reference tool for Environmental Impact Assessment, its main aim being to present, in a structured and unified way, the environmental indicators of interest for the preparation of the environmental impact study of a project. A unified presentation of the indicators facilitates experts in a specific area to understand and use indicators of different areas defined by experts having a diverse background and language. The handbook is structured in chapters, each chapter dealing with one of the following environmental factors or systems: air, water, soil, flora, fauna, ecosystems, radiation, noise and vibrations, working environment, dangerous substances, quality of life, material assets, cultural heritage, landscape, urban system, economic system and social system.
