The nuclear phenomenon of OKLO (Gabon) is the only known case of a natural nuclear reactor and of fission products being stored in a geological environment for a significant period of time (two billion years). Thus the OKLO uranium deposit is a good subject for the study of natural analogy with deep radioactive waste disposal, especially radionuclides mass transfer processes to the surface.
This report concerns studies engaged within the frame of a CEA-IPSN-ENSMP-CNRS working group, extended to an international WG and the EC research contract No FI2W/CT91/0071. It presents all results and achievements of Phase 1 of the OKLO project in three volumes.
