Abstract

The astrophysical aspects of neutron capture reactions in the thermal and thermonuclear energy range are discussed concerning their importance for the formation of the chemical elements in s-process and r-process nucleosynthesis. For the measurement of the light isotopes (A</=50) activation techniques at the 3.75 MV Karlsruhe Van de Graaff accelerator and for the heavy nuclei (A>/=56) the time-of-flight (TOF) method at the Geel electron linear accelerator (GELINA) were applied.
