THERMIE: Integrated Quality Targeted Projects
THERMIE, a component of the non-nuclear energy RTD programme, is aimed at ensuring lasting and reliable energy services at affordable costs and conditions; reducing energy consumption; reducing the environmental impact of the production and use of energy, in particular CO(2) emissions; and strengthening the technological basis of industry. Special emphasis will be placed on Integrated Quality Targeted Projects in the following sectors: Rational Use of Energy in Buildings and integration of Renewable Energies in Buildings; and Rational Use of Energy in Transport and Urban Infrastructure. An Integrated Quality Targeted Project is a major European collaborative project that includes different partners from at least three Member States and/or Associated States. It is designed to have a significant impact on the energy and environment situation in the EU. The aim is to demonstrate specific high levels of quality on energy efficiency through innovative technologies and their implementation. Reduced environmental impact levels will be achieved by the best practices for the implementation of innovative energy technologies at national, regional and/or local level. This brochure explains how to apply for financial support for a THERMIE integrated quality targeted project.
