Abstract

In order to provide forum for exchanging experiences, the European Seed Capital Funds Network (ESCFN) was created in 1990.
The coordination of this network was given to the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA). Until the end of 1995, it brought together the 23 funds of the pilot action and up to 25 other seed capital funds with interests in its activities.
The ESCFN played the role of promoter for a profession which has developed slowly for a number of years. It has allowed seed capitalists from all countries in the European Union to share their skills, their experience and, whenever possible, to collaborate, and invest together. .
