Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The aim of the research and development ENS programme has been to address the dynamic technological developments and evolving TransEuropean network requirements of the Union. ENS experiences and practices made an important contribution to the G-7 meeting on the Information Society held in Brussels. In particular providing a working basis for the Global Healthcare Applications project and a realistic background for the government on-line pilot. On the eve of the Fourth Framework Programme, ENS has attained valuable insight in support of national problems. Fresh skills are evident at all levels, practical experience has been generated, techniques and methodologies have undergone refinement and much awareness and support has been generated within Member States. The level of user involvement has been exceptional and, as witness to this achievement, implementations and demonstrations have taken place in several Member States. Today, ENS results are in everyday use so confidence in the value of ENS input in support of future actions for example the Fourth Framework Programme is strong. This ENS book contains a compilation of ENS projects results.
