This book is a guide to the 420 projects currently carried out under the Telematics Applications Programme which is concerned with societal application research based on communications and/or information technologies. Synopses of those projects are given as well as information on the validation sites and the details of the contact person of each project. Not all the proposals accepted for funding are included in this volume, since some of them were under negotiation when this volume was sent for printing. Projects have been group according to the areas and sectors defined in the Council Decision, as follows:
area A. Telematics for services of public interest: administrations; transport;
area B. Telematics for knowledge: telematics for research; education and training; libraries;
area C. Telematics for improving employment and quality of life: urban and rural areas; healthcare; elderly and disabled people; telematics for the environment;
area D. Horizontal research and technical development Activities: telematics engineering; language engineering; information engineering;
area E. Support Actions. ons.
