Abstract

New information and communication technologies are leading to new ways of learning and teaching. In particular, multimedia technologies and services are providing new opportunities for acquiring new knowledge, whilst broadening the access to education and training through open networks. The present volume, based on the proceedings of a workshop held in Brussels in December 1994, gives some examples on how the learning process can be improved with the help of information and communication technologies.
