Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Direct financing of research is not always necessary in many areas. Often it suffices to have better coordination. This coordination, which also encompasses technological aspects and questions of know-how transfer, is the aim of the theme nets. These nets bring together scientists from industry, universities and research centres, to enable FTE tasks relevant to industry, which are being worked on separately, to be coordinated.
The agreement governing a theme net should cover the costs of the coordination.
Two types of theme nets are proposed together with a timetable, Thereafter, there are chapters on the execution, the participants, according to which criteria the proposals are chosen, how a proposal is formulated and presented, as well as the assessment and choice of the proposals. The last two chapters cover the agreements, and the information and support that is available.
