How ripples of the steady magnetic field in tokamaks influence propagation, conversion and absorption of Alfvén and fast magnetosonic waves
Results of analytical research into the effect of steady magnetic field ripples on Alfven waves (AW) and fast magnetosonic waves (FMSW) propagation, conversion and absorption are summarized. Numerical estimations of the considered effects for the parameters typical for ASDEX-Upgrade are carried out. Possible applications of the obtained results to the experiments in ASDEX-U are discussed.
