The use of continuing pressure filter plants in the processing technique for products that are difficult to filter, is becoming more important. The optimum performance of these plants is dependent upon reliable methods of calculation for the cake-building and drying phase.
First a new, experimentally supported model for cake production and drying for the flotation concentrate, as it is guided towards the pressure plate filter of the processing plant Ewald/Schlägel & Eisen of the RAG, was tested in respect of the quantitative suitability. The aim was to optimise the use of the filter with very little experimental work, and above all to enable intelligent control.
Secondly, the various possibilities for solution-dependent steering of the pressure plate filter in the processing plant Ewald were investigated.
By means of an empirically developed differential equation, all control possibilities were simulated and evaluated. To be able to confirm the starting point however, measurements are necessary. y.
